I moved to Orange Shoals about two years ago and I am currently a senior at Sequoyah High School. I am 18 and I am a Red Cross Certified babysitter. We have an outstanding nanny who has cared for our son for 4 years now. She takes her job very seriously, planning each day so that every hour is structured, with the exception of "quiet time" in the afternoon. We have built a child-safe, learning-rich environment in our basement. We also have a very large, fenced backyard. She takes our child's safety seriously, and it certified in CPR and first aid. She has a degree in education and has extensive experience teaching preschool, grade school, up to college students. Weekly activities include trips to the library. Daily activities include exercises in fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, cultural and social studies, reading, math (in the form of games that she creates) and more. She insists on discipline, manners and structure, and our son eagerly looks forward to every day with her. We'd love keep her around for the time being, but the budget is tight. We're hoping there is another family within the neighborhood who might be looking for convenient childcare from a safe, reliable, flexible caregiver.
